Cleaning schedule

bakeaway Oct 06, 2008 10:49 PM

I always check my snakes everyday and spot clen if needed.
I was wondering how often most completely clean and replace substrate. I do it every 2 weeks,,,is that enough?
Thanks

I don't completely clean mine that often, but spot clean constantly.

Hey Bakeaway.... just curious... if you could only own one snake, which of the ones that you already own would you choose to keep, and why?

Thanks Bakeaway

I had a Mexican Black king that I really liked. He was HUGE and very intimidating but puppy tame. I've also had two Sonoran Gophers that came in my back door, 2 Desert Kings that came in my front door, and a mean ole whip snake that came in my side door. I've also owned a ball python, several corns, a rosy boa, 2 hog noses, 2 kenyans, 2 columbian boas, a bull snake, a milksnake, a beautiful hybred that acted really weird, 2 glossy's, etc, but only have one desert king and glossy right now. I know what you mean about having to choose just one. Was wondering what kind of pet the carpet python makes?

Yours is gorgeous. How big do they get and how much do they eat? Does it need a UV light on it? I don't for my King and Glossy but often wonder if I should.

We are similar, as I clean every day as well. As far as substrate, I use newspaper, but from what you have said with your cleaning routine, I believe what you do is great and I would not change a thing!!

The cleaner, the better, as I always say.
