Our maybe gravid girl just gave birth to a slug. She never looked big, so im not expecting any live babies, but hoping anyway. Never witnessed the breeding

Three slugs, then some babies. One is obviously stillborn, is all twisted, maybe from being born with slugs? This is our first clutch ever, so im a bit antsy. We had our otherbrazillian slug out last year. All their color is in, but i think i notice a yolk in the sack with one of them.

Theyrefully colored. How long does it take them to break out of their pouches and start moving, if they're viable?

to myself, to keep me busy. 4 slugs, 5 babies- looks like a few more to come. The one that looked stillborn isnt, but looks like it got crushed, and isn't going to make it. How to properly cull this one, anyone?

She did start to swallow a baby in its sack, but i took it away. Must keep an eye on this baby eating mother. :P

When they are born in the membranes I pinch a hole in the membrane in front of the snake's nose so that it can stick it's head out. After they have their head out I leave them be for as long as possible so that they can absorb any remaining yolk. The umbilical stalk also shrinks when they start breathing air and there will be much less bleeding if they break the umbilical an hour or two later. OTOH the ones that get delivered outside the membranes and are not stillborn do fine. To euthanize a seriously deformed baby snake stick a knife or nail through the snake's brain. The snake will probably continue moving but after the brain is destroyed the snake will not suffer. Other home methods of euthanasia probably leave the brain alive for some amount of time. Baby snakes that have slight kinks or other minor deformities can survive and sometimes do well. Congratulations on a fair litter.

Congrats on the good litter. Remember, any live healthy babies makes it a good litter!!!

I think Jeff covered all your Q's so keep us updated on your (her) progress......

They've all broke out of their sacks, theres only one that looks like he has a large belly, who has a little trouble moving from it.

The one I thought was stillborn I'll keep an eye on. Its alive, but pretty unresponsive. It came out after 3 slugs, I thought perhaps the labor against that may have harmed him.

It looks like 9 live, and she has a lump left in her, but im not sure if thats another or a belly full from eating slugs.

I don't have a slug count. She ate each slug as it came out, waited til it was gone, then gave birth to the next. Since i've been in sparingly I'm not sure how many theres been.. at least 5.

So, how exactly will you tell him apart from the rest?

Keep the yolk belly one at gestational temps (82 degrees) with little to no temp gradient. "Cook off" that yolk.
