Adenovirus has been around for five years or so, maybe longer. Not a new problem, just not often talked about.

If i recall correctly there isn't any treatment for this disease and the only real way to prevent it is ensure proper quarantine of any new comers into your collection.

A google search on adenovirus should bring up plenty of articles posted both here and on other bearded websites. Using the forum search feature will work as well.

It's out there. It's something that comes with the dragon. Spread at egg laying or contact with infected feces. They say there has never been a negative colony found in the US. With 21 dragons, almost all rescues, I'm sure it's here. Doesn't seem to be as much as an issue as they claim when proper husbandry is maintained.

Check out Cheri Smiths page on adenovirus at reptilerooms.com
I actually had the adenovirus in my colony and it wiped not only my animals out but some peoples that I sold too before I new that my dragons had it. It is terrible to watch. I think there is a test out now that doesn't involve killing the animals but I'm not for sure. Cheris webpage will shed alot of light on the subject for you though.
