swollen eye

brick1 Oct 07, 2008 08:43 PM

sorry no pics, as writing from my phone
But i have one of my yearlings, has spent a lot of time in her water bowl lately, and also looks like she going to shed. But one of her eyes seems swollen, not disfiguring like that pic dave had of his, more that just the lens, seems like may have some fluid in it. Im 90% sure its not a retained eye cap, as i check all the eye caps on sheds. I know it hard without a photo, but any ideas or anyone had anything similar? im going to wait and see if she sheds, next couple of days i think before doing anything, but it does seem a tad worrying. Otherwise she seems fine, and took to fuzzys yesterday no problem.
cheers

From your description I believe I've seen it before, it sounds like an eyecap that has gotten water underneath it. Does happen just prior to a shed - not often but sometimes. And only when soaking.
