Young everglades rat

I don't have a lot of info. on this girl, except that I got her at a small reptile show in Houston back in march of this year. I was just getting back into snakes and my stepson was looking at some corn snake hatchlings, but I recomended her(nothing against corns). Since then he has lost interest and I'm glad I got her because she is starting to get some nice color to her.

Wow. Check out that great red tongue. Who bred her? If you don't mind my asking? Thanks!

To be honest, I don't know. Like I said, I was just getting back into snakes and I didn't even think to ask. I don't even know when she was hatched. It was kind of an impusle buy, since it was for my stepson. Since "we've" had her she has grown on me and I think she will become a good breeder in a couple of years. Now that I am back committed to working with snakes I am on the look out for a nice male to pair her with. But yeah, now I wish I would have asked more questions about her background. It was a small show and she was the only rossalleni at the table or the whole show for that matter. She is one of the reasons I have decided to focus on rat snakes and I can't forget my love of Pituophis.

A very nice impulse buy regardless of her background. Good luck with her and your breeding plans.

Thanks, the pics don't do her any justice. She is very orange, with a hint of copper and a few white specs around her blotches.

Nice! It's fun to watch their color gradually change to a brilliant orange over the years.

Yeah, it's going to be fun. She is just now really getting into a groove growth wise. She's really doing well.
