Beardie defensive of its territory

mwrinkle Oct 09, 2008 05:10 PM

I just got a Collared lizard and the female Dragon is upset even though her cage is caddy corner across the room. I came home the first day to see her standing in the corner facing the other lizards cage with a blackbeard and head bobbing. She has taken to doing this at her reflection for the past couple months but it was just in the corner best able to see the other cage. No sand was distrubed elsewhere. Yes, she is a female she has been examined by two vets listed on the Herpconnection. Vickie Daichu told me at MARS this year when I asked her about it, she said it wasn't unusual for a femae raised in isolation to gain a dominant personality like a male.

I'm not sure if you're asking a question?

I took a male rescue in a few weeks ago. He can see other dragons and bobs like crazy all the time. The other males that see him don't even bother to bob back. After a while dragons get used to seeing other dragons and other animals and just sortof ignore them.
