breeding question

JonathanPG Oct 10, 2008 01:32 AM

how many of you leave your hide boxes in with the breeding pair? Also how many of you do not provide heat during the cool down? Thanks, im debating whether or not i should take the hide box out and whether or not provide heat at night. Thanks for your help!

I have all my females in 41qt sterilites, in racks. I don't use any hides.

I think providing hides is all in preference... whether it's your preference or the snakes. If you think the hide is a distraction or a way for them to deviate from each other, take them out temporarily.

And providing heat would depend on the temperatures in your reptile room. If its warm in there, than cut it off. Most people just drop the temperatures I think rather than cutting it off completely. You don't want them to get too low and have yourself sick snakes, and make it hard for them to digest their meals (if they're eating). I personally don't drop temperatures at all. But again, that is preference.

Hope that helps!
