question about medication for parasites.

sincitydragons Oct 10, 2008 09:14 PM

I just got a black rough neck adult tonight that someone gave me because they can no longer keep it where they live. He is about 2.5 ft and is active but.... The girl has informed me that since she got him from a small shop in Arizona he has been losing weight and eats like there's no tomorrow. He is very under weight and the first couple of things I'm going to do is make sure his temps are up and that he's hydrated and well fed by my standard as I don't know what hers is. How long should I wait to start any kind of medication for internal parasites and what would ya'll recommend? I would take him to the vet to find out for sure but right now thats not really an option so please spare the lectures good intentioned as they may be. Feel free to email me at sincitydragons@gmail.com

This Red Neck refuses to go out of his way to be politically correct so what you see is what you get. You may not like my sense of humor but at least I've got one. I breed bearded dragons and will soon be breeding monitor lizards.

alright so after much calling I've found a vet that will do a fecal exam for a very affordable price and will be taking him monday.... in the mean time I'll just be feeding him like crazy and keeping him warm.
