VERY nice animal Bryan.. Great pictures too! I think I am going to throw my camera in the pool.

If anyone here with photography skills is ever planning a trip to the New York area let me know.. I would love to get some good pic's of my stuff!

Thanks Mike. Don't throw that camera in the pool, throw it my way. That XTi is a great camera. I am shooting with the Canon 30D and a Sigma 70mm macro (spend a little more and get the canon 100mm macro, it is a much better lens, that is my next upgrade). Like Jason said in his post below, it is all about the glass and the lighting. Invest in a good macro and and the 580EX flash (or better yet, two of them).

OK, so I just ordered the Canon 100mm macro lens... but, I held off on the flash for now.. lets see how the pic's look with the lens and i will add the flash after. breaking up the cost of those two items will make it hurt less!

Very nice animals and very nice photographs. The orange on a couple of those is blinding! I read that paper on alterna that was written back in the 70's, looks like you come from a pedigree of alterna enthusiasts (I saw the name Box mentioned a few times)!
