Who has really large beardies?

ntfish Oct 14, 2008 04:45 AM

I'd like to find out who has some of the largest beardies around. I saw an old post on the morph and genetics forum of someone who had a 24in., 26in. pair that was imported directly from Germany. There was a photo of their offspring. It would be great if I could find some that had that size potential. Thanks in advance. -Scott

My guess is those were the "german giants". They are the a larger breed of beardies.

Yes, they were German Giants. I have some that are part GG and have seen many others on the internet, but none that are 26 inches.

My male breeder is almost 24" and should be seeing 700 grams soon.

I have two 26 inch males, and a 27 inch male, I have many 23 to 24 inch females. I saw a 30 inch male at a reptile show and he was measured for verification, and he was the full 30 inches. I should have bought him the guy wanted 500 for him. I am constantly getting babies from the pairs, but I havent held anyback or gotten any replies or feedback from people who have bought some to see if the offspring reach the size of the parents. So I cant say for sure I know they have the genes though.

Now that is what I would call really large! BTW, where and when was the show you made reference to?

i have a male that is now 28 inches and 745 grams. hes a litttle thin do to him getting older and just not getting up as much to eat. hes not to big on his insects anymore hes active but just doesnt want to move he just wants veggies which has caused him to slim down a little bit.

My ? is are these larger dragons just as equal in body length or do they have very long tails. My BD is a GG cross and is about 24in and nearly 800g. Lookig at his tail it looks proportional if not a little short for his body size. I have a normal female and is 15in and 350g she has a proportional tail.

jeffk Oct 15, 2008 09:27 PM

his tail seems to be a little longer but he also has alot more girth and size to him. hes just all around big.

jeffk Oct 15, 2008 09:29 PM

i kept one of his babies and she is about 8 months old 14in and weighs in at a crazy 375g. shes just giant for her age.
