I've had this beautiful girl for several years. She was sold to me as an Albino Sonoran Gopher. She's about 5' & around 4 pounds. Lately an acquaintance has been saying gophers don't get that big & she must be a bull snake. Can you all help me out? I thought bulls had that slight overhang over the eyes that makes 'em look like they're glaring.

I dont know much about other species but as my first snake was a bull i would say this is not as it lokks nothing like my bull ie shape of head and the fact that there is no overhang above the eyes dont take my word though just thought i would add my opinion regards cheesemonkey.

Clearer photos would be benificial, however, based on what I can see, it appears to e a very nice Sonoran Gopher. Attaining the length you described is not uncommon. Maybe the snake could use a bit of adiet but not a big worry.

IMO, sonorans (normals) are a bit more contrasting than bulls (normal) and the sonorans tend to have a more reddish blotch coloration.

My 2 cents.

wow dc! haven't you ever been told that you aren't supposed to tell a lady that she needs a diet might as well just say "you are a chunky snake. you should go for the low carb rats. might help with your figure."

seriosly though, my 2 cents is it looks like a nice gopher to me. i believe pits are supposed to be a heavy bodied snake. i've seen some opinions vary as to how heavy. maybe a little thick but i would rather have them a little thick than thin. that's just mo. take care....

Looks like my adult male albino sonoran. Been looking for a mate for him for some time. Can't seem to find anything other than hatchlings.

Take care

Thank you everybody. She looks just like every albino sonoran pic I've ever seen & fits the descriptions I've read as well. Just wanted some confirmation.

Jeff, where do you live? Maybe our snakes could be friends

There is no doubt in my mind that is Sonoran from the original Albino line judging from the colors and shape of blotches.

Here's a few full body shots. The one on the carpet is from a few years ago. The grass pic is from this summer.
