CareFresh sucks the moisture from the animal on it. For an adult snake (they have thicker skin), it is not much of an issue. For baby snakes, it can be too dessicating unless humidity is a bit on the high end. Fine for sandboas and rosies (they do fine on it, babies and adults), but be careful with baby montane kings on CareFresh.

I think newspaper is better than CareFresh, and so is aspen and sani-chip for the reason mentioned above in the case of young snakes.

I used to use carefresh, my king snakes all did very well on it... It seems to be a little dusty, but not any worce then aspen...

The only reason I switched to aspen is because the closest supplier of carefresh is 45 miles away and the local tractor supply (which is only 10 miles away) carries aspen cheaper then the carefresh...

CAREFRESH IS AWESOME and it don't dehydrate your animals!!!
unless you use it for frogs HAHAHA
