Day 61 on 2 outcross? bloodred eggs. 1 very fat, and soft to the touch. Other looks good just not as big.
I have two mature corns. A bloodred male, and a questionable outcross female that laid her eggs in aspen this year. That's the 2 eggs I'm waiting on.
Most of you have heard me say I help a friend at a shop (mainly herps). And things are just terribly slow. Which means stock on hand, or possibilities of getting snakes at closeout prices.
My dilemma is, do I keep 09 breeding small as planned, just to my bloodred?
Or pimp my male to any female corn of proper size and weight? We don't get in many newer and better corn morphs but we could ahve a lot of females.
But if I pimp him out, I can prove he is or is not het for other morphs. Down side is lots of breeding of my 1 male, if that is an issue? It wasn't with me when I was younger
..
Also breeding to a lot of feamles from unknown sources also has issues. We've never had an issue I can think of, and colubrids are not like Boidaes, but I would be really pithed if I lost my male due to greed, or breeding to stuff just because.
While here I might as well add hybrid options. I have a friend in Texas that has a lot of huge bulls and SD gophers and WC colubrids. He has asked a few times for my male to try to hybrid to all his stuff. I'm still against hybrids, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks for input. At times people post things I never thought of.
