Very Light colored Albino

survey33 Oct 15, 2008 07:57 PM

This clutch hatched yesterday from an Albino X Het breeding. One Albino is nicely colorored while the other is super light colored. Also notice the Het in the top left is a little different, I think that might have something to do with it.

I'd be happy to hear what others thought.

Thanks for looking, Dave

Possibly snow and a axathic sibling.. Regardless nice clutch!

I produce them too. I call mine "mellow yellows". I really dig them...most people don't care for them.
The light colored siblings will color up within a couple sheds.
In my mind this is a genetic/inheritable trait - not something that pops up at random. At this point I know which animals in my stock can throw the mellow yellows. I hope to pin this morph down this coming season.

Good luck with your stuff...keep the mellow yellow Trust me it will grow on you.

I totally agree with Joe .. I have seen this before here too.. It will be interesting to see if a gene can be isolated from this . I think it easily could be more than just a light phase, maybe nothing really crazy but who knows.. Anthony McCain.
