Does anyone have or have seen a female croc monitor over 9 feet? I am just curious if the female croc monitors can rival their male counterparts in size?

I dont think anyone actually knows. They havent been kept in captivity for long, but Id guess a female would max out around 7ft at most. The average male wont even reach 8ft in the average keepers care. Who knows, maybe someone will suprise us all.
Just like any other monitor in captivity, in the last decade or so husbandry practices have gotten so much better among more keepers, now we need to keep that trend going.
I was told by many people that my albig female wouldnt reach 5ft at a year old, she did, and I was referenced to the largest female albig as being 6ft 2 inches, mine is now 6ft 8 inches plus, and not quite 7 years old now.
To this day even my video of her with my wife sitting on the floor draws skepticism and people insisting that Im lieing about her being a cross (other monitor keepers), lieing about her being female, and that shes really some other larger species that I photoshopped to make look like an albig.
Who knows, there are a few keepers out there that in the next decade or so will have some real monsters that suprise us all in captivity.

Your albig is a monster. Amazing animal. I remember when Sidbarvin posted his pictures, his lizard as well is incredible.

I love to see those pics as most of the animals are restricted from ever reaching that size, let alone age haha. I wouldn't doubt one minute you probably have one of the largest blackthroats, period.

Mark Bayless told me of 2 others, a 7ft 3 inch male, and a 7ft 2 inch male. Who knows, she always amazes me when I see her every time.
It helps that she decided on her own to be like no other monitor Ive ever met, shes so calm, so friendly, and so trustable.

I think people tend to forget that in captivity under optimal conditions EVERYTHING will get larger than it normally would in the wild. Few animals get to live out their life spans in the wild so never really reach FULL size.
And you and a few others here seem to have found what optimal is .

I know of a few female crocs around 7ft and at least one that is above. Dr. Sam Sweet has a nearly 8ft female croc monitor. A man named John who is on other forums has a pretty large female around 7ft, it mabe larger now. I'm not certain on the sex of mine but it maybe female, and it is just shy of 8ft. There are a few large females out there but generally males get larger.
