It's a striped world.

Here are some pictures of a striped ghost, a striped normal and a striped snow. The variation in stripes is always fun to see and admire.

Yeah I like the second one also. Nice contrast and love the wide red stripes.

All the corn snakes in my post are striped corn snakes. The one in the center pic being a striped motley. There is a very close relation between stripes and motleys that when breed to one another they will give you a pretty nice variety. Here are a couple more pictures to show the variation between motleys and striped motleys.

Here is a partial striped motley.

Another picture of the striped motley from the previous post.

Here's a really nice anery motely.

A normal amel motely.

A partial striped amel motely.

Then here is a yearling striped amel for comparison.

The relationship between striped and motley has confused me a bit! I picked this lady up in September and was thinking of working her in with my motleys but now I'm not sure what might come from that? I thought that motley and stripe were different forms of the same gene, with motley "more dominant" (both are recessive to normal) What might I have here?

Motleys and stripes are diffent forms of the same gene but when mixed together they will give you a really nice looking clutch. Most of the babies will more than likely be motley, striped motley or a much like the picture of your girl there, partially striped motleys. Looking at that picture there. The way the stripe down her back breaks up in certain spots, it tells me that she's a partially striped motley. So she will work very well into your motley projects. Good luck with her.

Dave, that's a nice motley with a stripey pattern & will go well with your project. A good way to tell the difference between Stripes & Motleys is the line down the center of the back is twice the width of the two stripes either side of it & it is the opposite with motleys........

....Striped-Motleys to normal Stripes.
Better contrast really....

Nice group you have there.

That Stripe-Mot in the first post is a '10'...
