Spike and Mike as skitish as a crackhead

Im pretty much done with there treatment, there parasite treatment is done but spikes sking treatment was doen two days ago, spike sking dosnt look anybetter after daily 3 ml of Baytril. Anyhow they used to love comming out being on me etc. Now when ever i walk by the cage they run into there hide or just flip oyut and bolt qacross there cage, thye IKE HATE ME WITH A PATION!!!. Has anyone ever had this happen to them and have there Uros returned to normal after the crackhead paranoia stage.

That is totally normal when you first get them. I have had my geyris for about a month and they still do that. I guess before they wouldn't run away because they were to weak or didn't want to waste their energy on it. Now that they are healthy they should be a lot more alert and skittish, but they should eat more than before.

When you have to treat a sick animal, the way you handle your animals changes. You have to catch them to take them to the vet, they get poked and prodded by a stranger (the vet), they are removed from the safety of their homes and then on top of that they are poked with needles for injections and you are restraining them to put ointments on them or give them meds. Chances are they are afraid of you due to the medical treatment you had to give them. When they get better, you will just have to start from scratch and regain their trust. It will again be a slow process, but I'm sure they will come around. Good luck.
