I am looking for advice on some odd behavior. My kingsnake has been displaying some rather odd behavior, it started about a year ago and he has seen a vet, but the vet was unable to diagnose him with any illness. It seems everytime I go to feed him, rather than go after the dead mouse he goes after himself. He will latch on to himself and try and constrict, sometimes it happens quick and he loets go but other times it will take him upwards of 5-10 minutes to calm down and release himself. He gets fed on a regualr basis, and I have tried increasing his food but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Seen and heard of that many times i my case it just a greedy ,hungry anxious snake that sometimes try the plastic box in which they live or themselves but they seem to come to their senses in a moment or two and get the dangling rodent.

Yeah my Florida kings bite their won boxes and won't let go.

I suggest you feed him some larger meals and more frequent.

What is the feeding schedule ?.. Or do you just feed whenever the snake is hungry?
How big is the snake?
What size mice are you offering??

My snake is about 4 feet long and gets fed about 2 mice once a week. The mice I feed are adult mice, I would say they are large mice. Thanks for your help!
