I don't keep easterns but my other Drys have cypress mulch in their hide boxes (I use newspaper on the rest of the cage). If I notice them deep in shed, I sometimes lightly mist the mulch. Even when I don't do this they never seem to have shedding problems. As long as they have something to rub on (like a branch) and a decent size water bowl they never seem to have problems.
By the way, that female look like she'll have lots of red when she sheds...very nice. Your male has more of a rust color which is nice as well. Do you know who produced them?
Good luck with them,
Chris
Hi Chris..
Sorry but cannot remember the guys name who bred them but can find out..I purchased them from someone who had them from hatchlings 3 yrs ago..Are they likely to get alot bigger or will the growth rate slow down quite alot now?By the way they have both shed since those pics..all went well just raised the humidity alot. Here is another pic of female!
Nice looking indigos! I keep everybody on aged newspaper. When snake's in a shed I keep roughly half of cage moist by pouirng some water on as needed. I moisten cages when snakes aren't in shed about every three days. Very low-tech, but seems to work fine. Regardless of shedding condition, everyone's cage is cleaned every three or four days. Vision cages are working out well in a heated room.
