Wondering if anyone experiences a slow down in feeding caused by winter? Temps are maintained the same, but the days are getting shorter and my leos are eating less. Wonder if this is normal?? Thanx all

My girl is doing the same thing. It's only her 2nd winter and she's already lazy to begin with. If she slows down much more she'll be a rock. She's not really hunting either, just waiting for the crickets or for me to put a wax/mealworm on her nose.
Temps are nice and warm in the day but she keeps going to the cool side even when it's 75-80 in there at night.

A winter slow down is a normal occurance, it happens pretty routinely to my males....whenever it happens i recheck all my husbandry...hot spot of 88-92degrees, proper amounts of hides, etc. I also start by offering different insects....if i have been feeding them crickets i will offer mealworms, roaches, silkworms etc.
If temps are good, and the new insects dont peak their intrest then i just monitor their weight every week or so with a digital scale - as long as there is no serious weight loss i tend not to worry

i'm actually in the process of fattening my girls up after breeding season and then i'm gonna cool them after they get some weight on them.. but i'd say its normal.. you could always "tease" them into thinking its still summer with a light and heat

Thanx for feed back on this topic. I just never thought about it, but a winter cool down makes sense considering their origin.. Thanx again..
