Im not to woried but my hog lsland boa keeps eating rats sideways. she gets them down but takes about 1 hour to eat. are there any problems that can happen. thanks

I have a large suriname that eats her rats tail first, I do not like this because I am afraid she may tear or perforate her insides with a toenail from the rat.

I have been cutting off the tail and legs and that works pretty good but is a pain in the a$$.

Last week I tried to heat the head of the rat hotter than the rest of the body, and it worked she took it head first!!
I dont know if that has fixed her behavior but it is the first time I have seen her eat one correctly.

I will try again next week and see if she can be conditioned to eat the correct way.
