herpermike1 Oct 17, 2008 10:23 PM

Wondered the age/size the obsoleta ssp need to be to breed. I've looked around a few places and haven't found a definative answer yet. Thanks, Mike

Age isn't as important as size. I venture to say that most people like to get their females up to four feet, while males can be smaller. A three foot male can easily breed successfully. Rat snakes can breed at even smaller sizes than this, but the "rule of thumb" that I like to use is four feet for females.
