Went to feed my '08 black necked garter and guess what?...he's gone! He's been missing since Fri. night.I've had one heck of a yr. with escapes,my lavender corn was gone for 23 days but,I found her on top of the mouse cage also,my female miami corn escaped and was found within 24 hrs. What bothers me about the little garter is he's so tiny,he could hide anywhere.Wish me luck! Jeff

Good luck!

We just had to chase down my Puget "Sky" (my fault, I fed him and left the cover open.

Then while looking for HIM, I found a lost baby garter that I didn't even know was loose!

Jeff

That's sucks. Hope you find him!! I may need to borrow him someday so you have to find him!!! Good luck and keep looking!!!
The only thing that worked for me was a litle flour sprinkled on the floor and the next morning, I had tracks right to the closet where my nelsons milk was spending the morning.

Steve

cochran Oct 20, 2008 07:20 AM

Thanks Steve! The flour thing would be a good idea but,I have carpet in the critter room.lol!I've got duct tape laying around everywhere and several of the drink bottle traps here and there. Take care! Jeff

MoJoHerps Oct 20, 2008 08:23 AM

Oh no! I wish you good luck finding him. I can sympathize on escapees - they are sneaky little guys.

dekaybrown Oct 20, 2008 08:03 PM

Is your critter room sealed???

After several scary escapes, we decided to seal down the reptile room, so the worst case is they are on the floor in there.

Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately there is no room I can put them in where I can seal them in. We also have radiator heating and they can probably get into the ceilings and walls around the pipes!

Nope,I haven't had any luck at all! I learned a long time ago not to give up on escapees but, this little guy is so small it won't take long for him to starve.I have tape and drink bottle traps everywhere plus,I'm looking around and under stuff regularly! Thanks for the concern! Take care Wayne!, Jeff

Good luck Jeff, I hope you find him. I had a juvi corn escape last Oct. and when I went to the back of the basement to dig out the Christmas decorations in Dec. I found her at the bottom and she recovered just fine, but I have had not so happy endings too, but dont give up. Good luck
