HRA x HRA Great Outcome!

tombarnhart Oct 19, 2008 08:44 PM

Out of 7 eggs from a het red x het red breeding I got 4 red axanthics. I usually have horrible luck with het x het breedings. 2 male and 2 females.

Thanks for looking,
Tom

Congrats Tom the Red Axanthics turned out nice and good odds also.
Still alot of Hot crosses left to do with Reds.

for some reason i thought they were a bit more sliver/gray? and then get some color in when they grow.

i'm really curious to see how they look against their litter mates.

awesome hit on the odds!!!!

Will do. Yeah, in person they are silver/gray and black. Not sure where the color came from in the pics. Definitely bad representation. I'll post better pics soon.

Here is a pic of one of the reds next to a normal clutchmate. For some reason the last pic came out a little dark. Hopefully this one better illustrates the true look.

Thanks. I still think there is lots of untapped potential with the red axanthics.

Take care,
