The frist leucistic Rainbow Boa belonged to the late Joe Robson of Living Jewels. Joe has been gone for years now, I have a friend who pick up a pair of het 8years back. Joe's had a very impressive collection all was purchased after him passing.

ok yes that is cool there there is another morph for the rainbows, but....

im not impressed at all, actually i am a little disappointed. IMO rainbow boas are one of the most beautiful snake out there and they are known for their markings and iridescences, and now to breed then into being totally white and featureless take away everything that makes a rainbow a rainbow...

maybe im alone in thinking that way it just seems backwards to me to breed color and marking OUT of a snake.

i do have to admit the eyes look awesome!!!

CRBs are still cool, and ill take your word for it but with out your word that it IS a crb i never would have know. throw it in a cage with a couple other lucy snakes, rat snake or whatever, and how do you tell em apart by just looking? im sure there are ways of telling sure as eyes and heat pits and such, but do you know what im getting at?

it is cool looking at it as a morph, if it can be crossed with other morph for different outcomes.

what type of gene is it, does anyone know or is it unproven?

for me personally that not a list i am going to worry about trying to get on any time soon if at all, i cant see spending more than the cost for even a mediocre norm, unless of corse it proves to be a key gene for some other type of outstanding morph..

I'm kind of with saagbay on the colors (Go Bam Bam!), but the eyes are really cool, and on some level, more variations can't be a bad thing. Now what I think would be really neat would be a rainbow that was kind of a reverse pied - large sections of color with large sections of black. Probably not even possible, but if it was, it'd be too expensive for me to ever afford anyway...

I recall a discussion years ago about this same thing. Most people seemed to prefer the color and pattern of the normal BRB. This pictured snake is certainly spectacular and I would be proud to care for it. Throughout the years there has been pictures of leucitic, amels, and ghosts. If I remember correctly all are CRB's. except the amel that was of a different sub-species. An occasional participant had some himself. I'm wondering why these animals haven't publicly reproduced ( or did I miss it?). Remember, I don't have any snake people contacts...just pondering from what I have read. It's been long enough for the first generation and probably the re-pairings. Where are they and why would someone keep that a secret?

he has probably kept it a secret as he will make a killing of the offspring. Says in the post, that they got the first het pair 8yrs ago. Im guessing there is now quite a few sitting in his snake racks. You bring it out straight away, he would make a tidy profit, you wait 8 yrs, so you have 20 adult pairs, you going to do very very well, if people are interested in buying them.

example, i just read that book The Lizard King, and there is one paragraph in there that talks about a guy, who spend 50grand buying 10 albino burmese pairs from bob clark, in the very earlier stages of the morph. He kept them and breed them all, but didnt let any babies go, instead he just hoarded them all, and kept on breeding. 5 years later he had 5000 of them, sold up and bought a million dollar house. Supply and demand!!! I bet those were the days.
