They are very "special" collareds from David Rutherford in Eastern NM. I think they might have a bit of Texas in them, but they are other things as well. They aren't typical.

After a trip to that area of New Mexico this past spring to photograph collareds, I would have to disagree. Those really are typical lizards from that area. We saw different colorations, especially on the males, and some really awesome pattens on both sexes. Not every one was a real stunner, but most were as incredible looking as yours. I'm hoping to go back again when the lizards come back out for some more photos.

Yeah, I hope that he will spread those genes in the Spring. They are all about to take a nap!

I will miss them, though.
