I was given 1 from a friend this past Saturday. I have e.gutta gutta, & e. Obseleta obseleta so can I keep them similar. I am assuming that they are more nocturnal due to the common name ; mexican night snake. Of course I'm going to breed these so any tips are appreciated. The female is still young a yearling at most.

congrats on getting one of these very interesting, beautiful and underrated snakes.
General care is similar to a corn. Same temps, meals, etc. Your setup should be taller with plenty to climb on. I have a female that I got last year and she spends most of her time hanging out on top of everything.
You are correct about them being nocturnal. When the lights are on, she's usually buried. But when they dim, she's all over the place. Very active at night.
If you have any trouble feeding yours, try feeding with low light. Mine won't always eat when the lights are on, so I drop the fuzzies on top of her hide box and turn the lights down. 30 minutes later she's done eating.
These snakes can be a bit skittish and often dart out the instant you open the cage, so watch out. They don't curl around you as much as they stretch out looking for the next structure to climb on. They calm down a few minutes after you take them out.
They're lots of fun to watch and handle, so you're in for a treat.

Very cool snakes. I'd like to start working with this species again. I'd keep them similar to obsoletus, but they might like to climb a little more. I'd give them a moist hide, as well as a dry hide. They probably don't need a cold brumation.
