Bob....
There's a bunch of variety there from the alternates on the first one to the classsic looks in the middle to the light/white phase ones and the reduced blacks....
Great looking snakes....I think the reduced blacks in that series are my favorites...but all are not too shabby in my opinion.....
Great shots.

Do you see any orange speckling per scale along with the black and grey speckling as they age?
I had many years ago that would get the saddle coloration saturated into the ground color due to speckling.....I always thought that was a cool ontogenetic change in thayeri.....But I usually saw it more common in females.....

Love your pics Bob.....

John:

Thanks...glad you liked the shots. Photo sessions are mostly enjoyable with these guys, except for the really squirrelly ones. The orange speckling seems to come mainly from those who start out with some orange near the tail, progressing anteriorly with age. To me the most interesting ones are those hatchlings that start out as nothing special, but then really come into their own within the first year.

Cheers,

Bob

Michelle:

Thanks. That first one...my khaki green leonis...is a female. She has developed a darker green coloration with age. Here she is as a hatchling (photo courtesy of Ric Blair).

She is beautiful, I am fond of her head pattern. I have been trying to collect a few with that 2 dot head pattern it seems to be a very old head pattern.

Bob, that is one awesome head shot! I love how the iris color matches the 2 dots on his head.
