Hi. I was wondering if you think a 5 1/2 ft redtail would be ok in a 41q tub thats around 35x16x6. The tubs are in my ball python rack. I'd only keep him in there for the winter because his custom cage becomes difficult and more expensive to keep warm(It was poorly designed).

If it is temporary he should be fine. I had a 6' male in one for quarentine as it was the only reasonable space at the time. He was fairly cramped but alright.

IF you have to do it, which many folks including myself have for temporary (and others not so temporary I'm sure) reasons, make sure you clean it as soon as they defecate/urinate. That big of a boa in that small of a space after making a mess, screams trouble. Mouth infections, RI, etc. When mine messed, the entire tub was wet... a bacterial masterpiece, when you add heat especially! Just a suggestion to keep on the look-out to clean asap if you decide to home him there for the winter;p IMO!
