The two extremes

Brad Alexander Oct 25, 2008 09:52 AM

I can't answer Joeycoco's question below, but I can post a pic of the two extremes. These are neat snakes. I had 2.3 of them like 8 years ago that I really enjoyed. I got to a point where I wasn't all that interested in keeping snakes anymore and ended up selling them before they produced for me (didn't last long, can we ever really get away from keeping herps).

Anyway, here's a picture of a hatchling and an adult I took the other day. It's such a clean black with large scales, how can anyone not appreciate these things. Beautiful animals

Thanks for looking

very cool picture. Were you able to get them to stay still enough for that pic or did you photoshop two pics together?

The adult was sitting there, the hatchling was placed in quickly and the shot was taken. I managed to fire off 3 shots before it was over. The first one the hatchling was hardly in the frame, the one posted is number 2 and in the 3 frame, the hatchling was on ready to take off.

Very cool picture! Did the adult show any aggression toward the hatchling? I've thought about taking a picture like that with my own animals, but was concerned about the little one winding up as a snack for the big one.

We didn't give it a chance. The whole thing from setting down the hatchling to taking the shots was very fast. I imagine if left for any time, it would become big snake food.
