Crested gecko food

zokbork3 Sep 07, 2003 03:41 PM

I recently purchased a 3 month old cresty at a herp expo. I also purchased some gargoyle gecko diet (the powder form you mix w/ water). I saw that they also carried crested gecko formula, but the man who i purchased the cresty from said that he fed his the gargoyle gecko diet. Anyway, i mixed some up: 1 part powder, 2 parts water and let it set to gel. However it did not. Even the next day it was very liquid. Can yoe help me? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong....should I stick to the crested gecko diet?

I have the same sort of problem with the crested food. I just add slightly more powder to the mix than it says. It tends to gel pretty well. I add a small amount and let it sit for awhile (10-15 minutes)and sprinkle on some more powder as if I need to. You just have to play with it I guess. Eventually you will get a feel for the right consistency.

Use less water, or add more powder until it gets thicker.
good luck
