Both snakes shed the other day...

natsamjosh Oct 26, 2008 08:21 PM

Seems like they coordinated their sheds so I could photograph them both today. Mendoza seems to have gotten a little more rusty/orange.

Thanks,
Ed

He looks so curious to explore the world too. Jack, well, he remains incredibly photogenic - somehow you always get good pics of him.

Sorry for being unclear, Mendoza is the ARB. Indigos are incredible snakes, but they are fairly high maintenance as well. That must be awesome to see them in the wild!

Thanks,
Ed

It's not my photography skills. Very often Jack just likes to pose.

Ed

natsamjosh Oct 27, 2008 07:30 AM

Thanks Tim. He gets a lot of lizards, some fish, and now some large mice. I'd like to eventually feed him young rabbits, but I'm not sure where to get them.

Yeah, the fuzzy coat guy is hilarious!

Thanks,
Ed

Dave,

This is the first shed where I actually noticed a change. It might have been more subtle before, not really sure.

Thanks,
Ed

Yep. When I put him down outside, he hardly moves. I don't mind that, though. I have to watch Jack like a hawk, he has no fear of the outdoors.

Thanks,
Ed

I love it when they shed! It's like getting a whole new snake!

Wow.... I want an indigo now.
So does Jack actually get darker/ more intense after a shed?

Mendoza is just beautiful! I love the markings on her sides!

Jack hasn't changed too much yet. I think his father was more of a "red throat" phase, mother was "black phase". So it will be interesting to see if and how his color throat/neck change.

Thanks for the nice comments,
Ed

Thanks Aubrey. I must admit, Jack does make it easy sometimes to get good pics.
