How do you guys transport your large pythons? I know most snakes you use snake bags but they seem a little big for that.

I have seen a lot of people use big rubber maid containers with bungees and duct tape to keep them closed. personally i think i would bag them, then place the bag in the container, especially if it is an aggresive snake. I cant imagine opening up the container with no way of telling where its head is.

I have a bag that I actually can fit into. Custom made bags are a lovely thing. I need to get a nice footlocker with wheels as well.

I asked this recently, too. I have an extra large rubbermaid with wheels on one end and locking clips. When I go to open it, I unlock it, and just open one corner, peek in to look for his head, and work from the opposite end. He's very laid back; if I had an aggressive snake I would use something different.

Where do you get such large bags, I usually see the ones for smaller snakes? Just wonderin?

I put my snake(s) in burlap bags, tie 'em off with rope & then put them in a big blue Rubbermaid tub like Laura uses. Keeps the snake(s) from escaping during transit and you don't have to worry about where their head is when opening the tub.

I got my burlap bags from a feed store. I had to go to a few before I found one that had 'em.

I like Cindy's idea of a footlocker or chest-type box. Looks more professional if you're exhibiting the snake(s) directly from the transport box.

Later!
