"R.A.P.T.O.R."

CatRaptor Oct 27, 2008 04:51 PM

Hi!! I'm Ray Ballinger a.k.a. CatRaptor, concerning Leopard Geckoes seemingly called "R.A.P.T.O.R."s. Aside from the Reptiles, themselves, I was most intrigued by their designation, especially what the components of the supposed anagram [If that's what it is!] consist of, in order ta come up with such an imposing moniker as Raptor. {Glancing at my screen/name, You mite think I was somewhat biased as to that latter point, & You'd prob'ly be rite!} Raptors, both extinct & extant, Are a fascination of mine, but, then, so is Herpetology, &, when the 2 intersect ...
Anyhoo, Thanx, in advance, fer any lite that can be shed on this conundrom; thus far, I've come up empty. I 1st encoutered the critters at http://www.leopardgecko.com/raptor-eclipse.html, just as a point of reference, but, they only referred me to the Leopard Gecko Forum at kingsnake.com, so, here I am. Online searching seems to only drop the periods in the name, netting Way too much initial info! I'm Still lookin,' tho!!

Raptor is an acronym for Ruby-eyed Albino Patternless Tremper Orange. I just did a quick search and if you go to google.com and search for "leopard gecko r.a.p.t.o.r." a good bit of sites come up. Sorry i cant be of more help, im not too familiar with all the leopard gecko morphs when it comes to the acronyms, i think they just make it more confusing lol
