Hey Man,

I went to a Home Depot today and was looking for the cement additive and couldn't find one with the right ingrediants. Can you post (or email me to this address). Please post the trade name of the polyurathane foam too.

Thanks
Marty

The adhesive is called "weldbond" and is an all purpose adhesive, with the appearance much like childrens glue. This is the flevopol alternatve, and is mixed with the peat. It can be bought at home depot in a glue bottle or pail. The brand name for the expanding foam is "great stuff." Get the high expansion stuff or you will be using to much foam for your money (your mass to expansion ratio will be inefficient without the high expansion stuff.) This too can be bought at home depot. I will say that I do not claim any of this info to be my own, I actually learned these tricks rom Mark Pepper, though I have not had the opportunity to use them yet. He has made some absolutely stunning vivaria with this method which surely rival those of our dutch friends (with the only exception that some of the plants in the dutch vivaria are nearly impossible to find in Canada).
Anyway, happy frogging to all.

Hey Marty,

Im glad you're so interested in this style of vivarium construction, it has worked out so great for me and I want others to try it.

Double J pretty much covered it, but I wanted to add that I didnt use the product he mentioned, but I think Its the same thing. The stuff I used is actually called Concrete Primer & Bonding Additave . No fancy title, they just get right to the point I got it at ACE hardware. Its in the section with the silicone and concrete patch. Good luck!

I wanted to do a dutch style viv for a long time, but I settled on tree fern as my backing. This will add a bit of dimention to the design.

I found a couple of cement additives at the local Home Depot, but none disclosed that they contain acitate copolymer and water. The closest one I found said that it contained polymer resin.

Can you take a look at your bottle and give me a bit more info (manufacturer, any additional info from the label etc)... If you could snap a picture of the label it would be even better. I don't want to get something that won't work for me. or even worse ! Kill my frogs.

Let me know when you have a sec.

Thanks
Marty

I cant seem to get the pics to show up in the post, so just imageevent.com/audiomaster/funwithcamera click the link and it will take you to the gallery with the pics of the bottle in it. They are at the bottom of the page. Talk to you later.

That's for a lot of 12. I don't know if you can buy a single container of it on the site or not.
