Bullseyes and Pearls! (DUW)

waspinator421 Oct 28, 2008 04:12 PM

I just got a whole litter of BRBs in today, along with a couple others from another litter. I snapped some quick pictures this afternoon. Most of them are Bullseyes, but there are a few Pearls as well. I won't be keeping all of them... will be hard to decide which to let go!

Some were in shed but I took pictures anyway. There was also a little Pearl female that was born with no eyes. Wasn't expecting that one, but the guy sent an extra one to make up for it. Not sure if she'll make it, but we shall see.

Well.... here they are!

I also got a yearling Pearl male, but haven't taken any pictures yet. Now to figure out who stays and who goes... ugh!

Thanks Ed! So, why does that one need to be named Malcom X?

It's got an 'x' for a bullseye in one of the side circles.

First time I have heard of this color. I assume it's the ones with patches of white on their sides. Is it genetic?

waspinator421 Oct 28, 2008 08:24 PM

The Pearls have the filled in side markings, verses crescents or Bullseyes. It's the opposite of an Eclipse, where the side marking is a black dot. It seems to be genetic, but only breeding trials will tell what's really going on.
