Independent Eye Movement?

Ameron Oct 28, 2008 11:45 PM

My Black Rat female is the first North American snake that I've ever seen with independent eye movement.

She can have one eye looking up while the other looks sideways or down. At other times, they seem synchronized.

Her eyes are also brown; not black.

None of the published nor Internet material that I've found mentions this fact. Is my gal unusual, or is this a commonly known fact?

Where is your Black Rat from? I have seen photos of western BR's with redish orange eyes. I think it depends where they are from.

I got her from Tim,
who got her from Jason,
who got her from a local pet store
who gets supplies from CalZoo in Orange County, CA

See my dilemma?

No way to find out, much to my dismay. I feel that she is likely from a mid-range area, neither far east nor west. This is just speculation, based on research.
