More wierd JCP behavior(and a feeding Q)

drumsforlife5446 Oct 29, 2008 04:45 PM

This is the same carpet that was lying belly up. I havn't seen him do it again, but...the other night he had his head in the water bowl, and he was going along the sides of the bowl, almost as if he was rubbing his face or something. He stayed submerged and kept going along the bottom. What the heck was he doing? The humidity was right, and his last shed was totally complete. I sprayed him just to make sure he didn't feel dried out, and he stopped. Any opinions?

Also, with feeding...I see a lot of people recommending feeding in the enclosure. I tried it, and now my male tries to attack me whenever I put my hand in the cage. this makes me not want to feed in the cage now

Hi.

I have a 7 foot male JCP. He is the perfect pet. I've had him since he was ...ooo...3 foot or so. He did try to bite me once when I fed him in a container then went to move him back to his enclosure. Ever since I feed in his enclosure. Never had / or have a problem with him biting me.

My opinions would be temps to hot?
Also read snake will soak if they have mites...little tiny bugs but you can see them with the eye.
or he just feels like getting wet?

sorry i'm not much help. this is an older photo of "Safari".

When snakes are fed in the cage you need to let them know when food is not coming. Touch the snake on the nose/head every time the cage is openend except when feeding. When food enters the cage the snake should not even see a hook. Soon the snake associates the hook with "no food" and the two of you will be just fine. Bill.
