Just rescued this Ball

robertmcphee Oct 29, 2008 10:14 PM

Well I just rescued this ball...
Those of you who know me are probably shocked to see me post pics. of a BP, as I don't keep BPs...lol, normally just boas.
Anyhow...
I am assuming this is just a normal, but I thought I would post some pics. Im not even sure 100% whether it is a male or female. I know that a friend of mine got it from another friend after they found it hiding at his work in somebodys office a year or so ago. It is about 3000 grams (skinny right now) and about 4 foot. We tried probing it last year and it seemed deeper than a female and more shallow than a male...If I remember correctly it was about 3 or 4 scales deep...If it is a female, I may just have to buy myself a male and play around over here on the dark side....lol

If it is 3000gms and on the skinny side I would bet money that it is a girl. Males rarely go over 2000gms. If she has been been loose for awile you might want to get her checked for parasites....

Nice pick up - a couple months of rats and she should be good to go.

Thanks for the info.
It was found about a year ago...
Unfortunately since it was found my neighbor who had it did not feed it much...She is very strong and healthy
There is no way to determine how long it was wandering, but since I live in Michigan I can assume not that long...
Ill do a fecal float as soon as I get a sample...lol, which should not be long as it is a pig.
Does it look like anything other than a normal?

It could always be het for something, but looks like a normal.

I have a big girl (3200gms) very similar to yours - here she is with a 800gm spider.
