Its only a het pied if it came from a pied breeding regardless of the so called het pied belly patten. If it was sold to you as a normal then its probably a normal.

It DEFINATELY has the het pied markers, but you know as well as I do that there's only one way to find out......... breed it to a pied and see what pops out!

While every het pied I've produced has the marker. I've bred pieds through a few ch girls with the marker and have never hatched a pied. It's worth a shot though.

Go with your gut feeling and breed it.I have a few female import babies with strong markers that will be plugged into a pied male just to see.Good luck

Hi,

I produced 5 BPS with het pied markers this year from my mojave x normal breeding. The only thing is that they were bred to a pied the year before. SO MAYBE there was some sperm retention. I kept one female back and if worse comes to worse then I will produce some 100% hets with her.

There are enough poss het breedings around that she could have been from a 25% poss het clutch that no one wanted to keep and raise up.

My Pied male came from a pet shop male bred to a 100% het pied female!! That "normal" male has produced 6 pieds to date. So evidently was het pied and no one knew it.

With the number of DOM REC breedings occuring now I think you will find this happening much more. ie: het albino x het albino = clowns (happened this year), het pied x het pied = axanthic pieds (2xs this year). So there are a lot of genes floating around that no one knows are there till lightning strikes!!!
