substrate help(zilla douglas fir bark)

a friend who is a breeder of mine told me that zilla douglas fir bar(bark blend) helps with humidity and is a good product.that is what he uses at the tore he works.i believe him but would like some feed back.

I use it for my ball python cage and my woma python...seems to work good for me...but as far as whether or not it raises the humidity...I dont know how it would. I think balls are fine as long as they have a decent sized open water bowl in their cage, they dont need really high humidity like the bloods.

I have used it before and it's drawback is that it's really "dusty". There's dirt-like "dust" that goes to the bottom of your cage and is a pain to clean. If you're having humidity problems I'd go with cypress mulch bedding(just make sure it's 100% pure cypress and not mixed with pine or anything that can harm the snake.)
