Hi!
I haven't really had a lot of experience with coloubrids but a friend asked me today if there are any snakes that glow, I was curious to find out if anyone has put a UV light over an albino or lavendar albino California Kingsnake or similar and if they have the glow reaction to the UV with their lighter skin tones. If you have a picture of it that would be great!
If not I just appreciate the help with the odd question.
Thanks,

Jess

Ps- heres a pic of one of my BRBs

I don't think snakes glow, but I have a scorpion that glows under a blacklight. Check it out.

Yeah I knew about the scorpions, not really my choice of pet. I just didnt know if the light colors of an albino or lavender would set off a similar glow or something like that.
I love the pic! Really cool thank you!

I have a leucistic rat snake i thought for sure would glow, but no luck. BTW. that rainbow is awesome. I never saw contrast on a rainbow like that before.

Hmm I guess that answers my question though, I would think a leucistic would glow as well. Darn. Thanks though!
And yeah, Zeek is pretty awesome, here are some more of him. Finding a similar female was a nightmare, I gave up, the ones that are out there with that contrast are not being let go.

Although I have never tried it myself, I think albino and snow corns will glow very well under UV lighting. I'm sure it isn't good for them, but pictures were published in the old Cornsnake Manual.

Well there are glow fish that they have artifically made glow using genes from other species that do glow..technically a geneticist could do the same.
