err..tipping is giving a little extra money to a waiter or waitress after paying the bill at a restaurant.

how it relates to ball pythons, no clue, can't say I heard the term used. Unless its a typo and you mean pipping? Pipping is a term describing a baby cutting the egg just before it hatches using its egg tooth.

Farmers hate THAT, you better run fast!!!

fatjay Nov 02, 2008 04:42 PM

Unless the farmer happens to be your grandfather, and your intoxicated fellow tippers are your cousins.... I think I'm pretty safe.

Perhaps this is in reference to the common occurrence of increased melanin often on the tips of scales as a snake ages. You will often hear of "tipping" with regards to Honduran Milksnakes, for example.

At least what we use in the Aboreal Python world...Tipping is another color that usually creeps into another base color....

For example..in the the case of Jungle Carpet Pythons, Most are Black and Yellow Banded Snakes...well when there is yellow coloration that creeps up the sides of the Black that is what we call "Tipping"....Yellow Tipping that creeps up the areas of Black.

Some people might refer to the "Muddy" parts of say a Pastel Ball Python as "Tipping" as well. I have heard it used on Honduran Milksnakes as well, especially when it talking about the Anery Hondurans, the little black "Tipping" that creeps into the lighter areas or bands, usually as the snake ages.
