Measuring shed

ExcessiveHerps Nov 02, 2008 04:15 PM

I know measuring sheds won't provide an accurate length yet it is limited to a certain percentage? My male hondo just had its 2nd shed for me and its roughly 4'' longer than the first from 1 months ago. I found it before it dried and cleaned it up and then got the old one out for comparison. I figure it might be more stretched than the old one which has dried but curious how much different the two could be.

Thanks
Xavier

I have read that the shed can be as much as thirty percent longer than the snake. My female eastern just shed and the shed is only 1" longer than the snake itself so I guess there is a whole bunch of factors involved. ( Snake 32" and shed is 33" )
