leave the hides in when tryin to breed?

irishanaconda Nov 02, 2008 10:27 PM

just wondering if people take out their hides when there introducing the pairs together or just let them be. the weather has been cooling down here in california where i live and my 66%het pied female (bhb) is 1400 grams now and i put her in the tub with my (SK) het pied male without a hide and they stayed on oppisite sides of the tub. the hot side is about 88 deg f and ambient is 84. its almost like they hate each other lol. i know i just need more patience and just a bit cooler temps but this was my decision at the beginning of the year to make a pied insted of buying one for 2K.

I took my hides out. Personally, I want to be able to look in and see if they are locked up without having to disturb them, and no hides makes that easier.
