Feeding

RainbowsRule Nov 03, 2008 12:54 PM

Is it normal for a BRB to be shy at feeding time? I have feed him twice so far and he seems to shy away from it when it is on feeding tongs, but when i leave it in there, usually within an hour he has eaten it. I just wanted to know if you have any shy eaters.

Most of mine will take their F/K feeders and constrict it to death before feeding. I actually find that those that constrict rarely leave it behind uneaten. A few will not take it and constrict. For those I leave it and check back later, most times is gone so yeah, some like a lil privacy at dinner time.

Absolutely. Most of mine grab them off the tongs before I get a chance to set it down, but there are always a few who won't come out and eat right away. Just make sure it's gone in a few hours (or morning if you feed at night).

all mine take off the tongs, except for 2 that never will. But the rodent just gets placed under there waterbowls and they will always take. Found that the best about having good food records, if you have kept good records, and look back over the months, you definately see the snakes behaviours. For example i have one other, that will refuse food for a few days after a shed, but will take no matter how opaque. Just like people, some are a little more strange than others

Dave, reading this forum, im thinking we all resemble that comment. Only difference is you and jeff have been in it a hell of a lot longer. I know i got to slow down with the snakes. After your get to know each other forum messages, i saw that me, aubrey and aanata1 are all much the same age, if we keep on collecting at the rate we seem to be, god knows what it will be like once were your age, let along jeffs
