I took the leap and bought a beautiful albino burm. He's about 75-100grams, and is just a tiny little guy. He got here on Thursday, fed on Sat. and is clicking today.
I let him settle in before any handling, and when I got him out today he was clicking upon exhaling. I boosted the temps, and am looking for a herp vet in the area -I just moved- Any suggestions? If the temp boost is effective when should I epect to see results?
Thanks

Don't forget to keep the humidity on the high end of the scale, too. It's very instrumental.

By increasing the overall cage temperature and humidity level you should see good results between 3 - 7 days. Typically, 3 - 5 days. Give it a hide and let it rest (no handling, etc...) and adjust and it should be fine.

Don't wait 3 - 7 days to see if it gets better on it's own before you find a qualified herp Vet. Find a Vet ASAP and get everything lined up just in case.

Hang in there!

He's headed to the Vet on Wednesday. I forgot to mention that I've upped the humidity as well.
He was shipped on a cold(er) night, so I had heat and humidity pumped since Thursday. As soon as I head the clicking, I started calling. I'll keep you posted on how things go.
thanks for the help!

I tip my hat to you in respect & recognition of following proper procedures in your situation. Good for you! It sounds like your Burmese Python is in good hands and will be fine.

Definitely keep us posted and share a few photos of the lil' one.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the compliments HH
He went in today, the receptionists turned into giggly little girls when they heard I had a snake, but the Dr. was really great. My little boy is now on Batryl, that's to be given orally. Since he's still really active and has eaten, the Dr. isn't worried, and now that he's on meds neither am I

the picture is on when he first arrived. I need to get snapping those pictures while he's small!

thanks for your help!

Well, good. Sounds like he'll be fine.

And he's a cute lil booger, too. Looks like he's got something more than just albino in his genes. Possibly het for green and maybe even granite? I don't know for sure, but he sure does look like he's not just am albino.

Congrats & welcome aboard!

Take care!

OH NO! Don't say THAT! there is a little switch in my brain that was set in the "don't breed your burm" and now it's wavering I can't resist a nice project! We will see in a couple years though.
