Any Feeding Advice For A Blind Leo?

sweetnsourkarma Nov 04, 2008 12:19 AM

I have a beautiful albino male who I've had for a few months. He never did eat well and couldn't seem to catch crickets on his own. He also didn't seem to see some of them when they were right in front of his face. I took him to a rep vet recently after watching him when I re-arranged the cage and they tell me now he's blind (thanks a lot Petsmart...). I have been hand feeding him crickets by rubbing them against his nose and he's taking maybe one or two every other day. I'm dusting half of them with Repti-Cal and have even tried mealworms, waxworms, and pinkie mice (to help get some of his weight back up), but he only hesitantly takes the waxworms and none of the mealies or pinkies. Any advice on bulking him back up?
