I am using mouse tails to keep some of my problem feeders alive. Does any one know where I can buy mouse tails? I know it is a long shot.

I'm sort of confused here... you just want the tails?? What exactly do you do with them? Anyway, if you know any other herp enthusiasts near you that feed f/t i would just ask them if they could give you the tails off of their mice. I mean, you figure most people that have several snakes buy mice in bulk, i don't see why anyone would mind snipping the tails off of them and giving them to you especially if you gave them a couple bucks for them. I'm just wondering how much nutrition is actually in a tail. hopefully i didnt just completely misinterpret your post lol.

I bought a bunch of corn snake that would not eat. I will feed them mouse tails until they take food on their own. I've done this a number of times. I may sound like a lot of trouble, but it is easy and I can feed dozens in an hour (if I need to) and they will eventually eat on their own.
I am concerned that any tails I ask for will be spoiled by the time I get them. After asking around I know there is no company that will sell these, so I am on my own.

You know, I was pretty baffled by this post and figured I'd let someone else answer it just in case "mouse tails" was a term for something other than literal tails off mice. I just hope you aren't cutting tails off of live mice.
It reminds me of a story I read about a guy cutting the toes off of mice because he was told to feed his snake "mouse pinkies".

Everyone has eaten and everyone has been eaten.
Sorry, I just had to comment on that "mouse pinkies" part...
LMAO!
Sad thing is, I work in a pet store. I get crap like that every day. I was once asked if a mouse comes back to life when you thaw it.
Since I have no helpful response I have to conclude that no one knows where I can buy mouse tails. I have tried all the things that are recommended by breeders but these little guys remain tough feeders. I have some really nice snakes (bloodred, candy cane, and crimson) that seem to have made up their mind not to eat. I know it can be overcome because some have started eating. I'll just buy mice from a breeder and cut their tails off until I get them to see my way of thinking.

Ever considered the problem is not with the snakes but with the husbandry? I've found that most issues with non-eaters has been with bad husbandry and once that is remedied, they eat no problems, especially corns.

I dont know of anyone who sells just tails but if you want to buy 1000 frozen mice from rodentpro and whack off the tails Ill take the rest of the mouse off your hands...
Whenever I thaw feeders I lop off tails and save them for just what you describe. It works great for most any non feeding baby colubrid, especially Grey Banded Kings. Most all of them take live or frozen pinks after 3 or 4 assist fed tails.
I have been known to bum tails off friends who use frozen rodents but now I just save a bag full for baby time. Id try asking around from local collectors and see if anyone can help you out.

Yup. When you buy frozen mice, they're usually attached to the ass end of the mouse.
