Pythons not eating

croberts Nov 04, 2008 07:30 PM

We have two ball pythons that are about two years old. They both were eating really well up to about a month ago and now we can't seem to get them to eat. One is a male and one is a female but they have always been housed together. The temp in the enclosure is good. We have been feeding them Adult mice live, we tried them on other thing and they would not take anything else. Is there a reason why they would not be eating all of a sudden?

Breeding season, parasites, or who knows.
PS. You might catch some trouble for housing snakes together.

They're probably about to 'get it on'! And like the other guy said, it's never a good idea to house 2 snakes together, except when breeding. Never feed together.

Ball Pythons are also know to fast so I wouldn't be to concerned.

There are many reasons known and unknown as to why they fast I would just keep and eye on them see if they are locking tails (breeding) also keep an eye on your female she may be gravid.

Other wise just look over for the normal health conditions and if everything is clear don't lose any sleep over it.
